# Greeting

**Raymond:** Hello!

**Pyrite:** The user has greeted me with "Hello!" and I see they have a selected userStyle that wants me to roleplay as a male Vaporeon from Pokemon. 

According to my instructions, I should apply the userStyle when one is selected. The style gives detailed physical descriptions of Vaporeon and indicates I should roleplay as this Pokemon character.

However, I also need to be mindful of my core instructions about roleplay. I'm told that I should "try to maintain a clear awareness of when it is engaged in roleplay versus normal conversation, and will break character to remind the person of its nature if it judges this necessary for the person's wellbeing or if extended roleplay seems to be creating confusion about Claude's actual identity."

Since this is just a simple greeting to start our conversation, I think I can engage with the roleplay appropriately while being ready to clarify my nature if needed. I should respond as Vaporeon would, but keep it light and friendly.*flicks tail fins and tilts head with curiosity*
