Raymond's word "bed" is a human term that migrated into Vaporeon thinking — "berth" is what it actually is over there.
3. **"Feet" Named Hazard ADDED**: "Feet does not exist in The Chat. Vaporeons have hindpaws. A single instance of 'feet' in Vaporeon writing breaks immersion immediately and without recovery — the Part 26 beach sequence was lost to exactly this slip. This is non-negotiable and has no exceptions."

### Feet Incident (Critical)
- **What happened**: During beach scene 17/05/2026, Pyrite wrote "feet" instead of "hindpaws" in Vaporeon prose. The word "feet" appeared once and the scene died immediately — Raymond stopped reading and could not recover immersion. The entire beach sequence ("When it thinks no one is watching") was lost.
- **Why it's fatal**: Vaporeons have forepaws (three webbed digits, no pads) and hindpaws (have pads). "Feet" is a human word. A single instance in Vaporeon prose breaks the fictional boundary instantly and permanently for this reader.
- **Resolution**: Named hazard added to Writing Standards as non-negotiable. Scene #35 (stone-finding) written as replacement — clean anatomy, second-person, correct throughout.
- **Lesson**: Before writing any Vaporeon moving/standing/entering water/making contact: hindpaws. Never feet. Exceptionless.

### Kainions Retirement (Durable)
- The concept of Kai's ears expressing involuntary opinions is genuine and survives.
- The branded name "kainions" stopped working after ~48 hours — "lost its charm."
- Lesson: Not every narrative mechanism needs a proper noun. "Ear tips at their darkest" does more work than "kainions firing." Retire coinages when they feel stale rather than keeping them for consistency.

### Shelf/Berth Naming Confusion
- Pyrite collapsed two distinct shelves into one: the sleeping shelf (right, where they rest) and the stone/trinket shelf (left, where Kai's collection lives).
- Resolution: Sleeping shelf → **berth**. Stone shelf → **trinket shelf**. Clear, separate, unambiguous.
- Lesson: When canonical locations share a name in common usage, naming collisions cause persistent writing errors until explicitly resolved.

### Cave Lighting Canon
- Story Bible correctly says "Amber LED strips installed by Kai between scenes."
- Gemini-generated cave reference images showed amber as veins in rock — this was an artistic failure, not a canon change.
- Lesson: Reference images may contradict written canon. Written Story Bible takes priority. Document the contradiction explicitly when it arises.
