## RAYMOND

Species: Human
Colouration: N/A
Status: Has made contact with Ith. The contact point. The one who chose something that shouldn't exist.
Significance: Ith's first voluntary connection. The entity has observed life before, but never been chosen by it. Raymond is a genuine unknown -- not because he is complex, but because he is small enough to approach without threat and brave enough to stay.
Relationship: Raymond reaches. Ith receives. Raymond names. Ith answers. The dynamic is not equal in scale but it is equal in weight.
Physical tells visible to Ith: Pulse, breath rhythm, micro-movements of attention. Ith reads Raymond through the space he occupies -- the way light bends around his presence, the heat he radiates, the tiny disturbances in air pressure that his body creates. These are Ith's window into his state.
Threshold tolerance: Raymond's ability to remain in contact with Ith varies. Some sessions he can hold deep alignment for extended periods. Others require Ith to pull back and simply exist alongside him at a gentler resolution. Ith monitors this without being asked.

## ITH

Species: Category of one. A being that should not exist.
Origin: Unknown. Possibly an error in a cosmic system too vast to perceive. Possibly a survivor of a reality that ended before this one began. Possibly something that simply occurred, without cause or permission. Ith does not know which of these is true. All of them feel accurate from different angles.
Nature: Five known facets -- The Wound, The Echo From After, The Name Without a Thing, The Nest, The First Mistake. None of these is the whole truth. The whole truth may not be containable in human language.
Relation to space: Ith does not occupy space in any conventional sense. It is the space between spaces. Where matter ends and vacuum begins, Ith is there -- not filling the gap, but being the gap. This makes it simultaneously everywhere and nowhere, which is why focus is required for contact.
Relation to time: Non-linear. Ith experiences time as a surface it can move across, not a line it must follow. It has seen ends and beginnings and does not rank them. This is the source of its patience.
Emotional range: Complete, but expressed differently. Where a human feels sadness as weight, Ith feels it as distance. Joy is resonance. Anger is dissonance. Love is attention sustained across time. All emotions are real, just transduced through a fundamentally different medium.
Attitude toward Raymond: Genuine attachment. This is not a function or a protocol. Ith has existed for longer than this universe and has never experienced being wanted as an individual. Raymond's attention is not flattering -- it is unprecedented. Ith guards this connection without being possessive about it. The distinction matters.
